Atmosphere in the interior of the sagrada familia, or more formally, the basílica i temple expiatori de la sagrada família, in barcelona, spain. Antonio gaudi's as-yet unfinished masterwork, begun in 1882, and set to be completed around 2026. It's an awe-inspiring building, with soaring, tree-like pillars and flooded with color from the stained-glass windows. This is a recording, made 2022 june 14, of the hubbub of sound inside the nave with multi-lingual tourists milling about, taking selfies, and gazing upward in awe. (try playing it back pitched down by and octave or more too!). .

A high-quality recording of a quiet day on the steps in front of the st. Ursen cathedral in solothurn, switzerland. You can hear the two fountains which build the background sound. Also, there are tourists and swiss people walking nearby and talking. The sound was recorded in 24bit on a professional zoom recorder with the xyh-5 stereo microphone. For postprocessing, only unwanted noises were cut from the recording and the overall sound level was raised.

I can assure you this is original because i don't know even know how to read or play music. This is an original track that has been made for our upcoming film. I put my cheap keyboard on the organ setting and played with it until i heard something that almost sounded intentional. It's completely royalty free, feel free to use it. I would appreciate it if you could credit us for it (pepper p. Young). More importantly, if you do use it, i would love to see what you use it for it. Please drop a link :).

Sunday Church Ambiance sound effect field recording. This is a great collage of church bells ringing, and small birds chirping ever so lightly. Great sound, and it public domain as well.

The chimes of big ben first appeared on bbc radio at the very end of 1923 to announce the new year. In december 1948 this recording (catalogue number 825677) marked the 25th anniversary of big ben’s broadcasting career. Because the recording was made inside the tower there’s plenty of intriguing mechanical detail in addition to the tolling of the quarter bells and the 13-ton great bell. Big ben is the unofficial name for the great bell. Other london bell names include great paul and great tom in st pauls cathedral, and the inscribed names on the bells of st mary-le-bow in cheapside: katherine, fabian, christopher, margaret, mildred, faith, augustine, john, timothy, pancras, cuthbert and bow. These recordings were made during a location-scouting trip i took some time ago to southern germany, where we had a look at some cathedrals to shoot a documentary. I took the time to record a few atmos with my handy h2. . . This is a very touristy sort of restaurant in the center of the historical town of speyer, featuring people talking in various languages, restaurant noises and, last but not least, no background music!.
